Hi, I'm Belinda.
I'm a daughter, a wife, a mum, and the founder of NAVO. Like many people, I never expected to become the person helping my parents navigate hospitals, healthcare, paperwork, appointments, and everything that comes with ageing.
Then life happened.
In 2024, my father, Jarvis, passed away after a series of hospital events that changed my family forever. What followed wasn't just grief. It was forms. Phone calls. Questions. Systems. Confusion. Trying to work out who to call, what to do next, what services existed, and whether we were making the right decisions.
Not because I'm a healthcare professional.
Because I'm someone who lived it.
At the same time, I realised our family wasn't unique. Millions of people are quietly carrying this responsibility every day – helping ageing parents while raising children, working full-time jobs, running businesses, paying mortgages, and trying to hold everything together. They're often called the "sandwich generation" – caring for people on both sides of them. And most of them are doing it without a map.
That's why I built NAVO. I wanted one place that helped families navigate ageing, care, support services, important conversations, and everyday decisions without feeling overwhelmed.
NAVO is not a replacement for medical advice. It's not an aged care provider. It's not a government service. It's a practical companion – tools, guides, resources, and technology designed to make the journey a little easier. Our role is to help people understand their options, ask better questions, and feel more confident navigating a complex system.
These guides, and the NAVO app, exist because I wish they'd existed for my family. Built on research, lived experience, and conversations with dozens of families who've been through the same thing.
